She hates him and his big head.
He likes her and her big t*ts.

She hates him because she somehow ends up naked every time she sees him.
He likes her because she somehow ends up naked every time he sees her.

She hates him because the big oaf knocked her up with his kid.
He likes her because she’s carrying his child.

She hates the way he gets inside her head.
He likes the way she lets him see glimpses of her heart.

Andie: I hate you.
Roman: I know…but I’m going to change that.

Review

This is the second book in the Lovers series and one that I was in trepidation about starting as Andie was very over the top in the first book and she kind of got on my nerves with her actions. However this was so misleading as to who Andie really is as this book proceeds to illustrate. I actually ending up falling for her and Roman. They were so easy to like and love. This is definitely an enemies to lover’s story though.

Andie is the very over the top bestie of Dani who we met in the first book. Little was understood about Andie but in this book we get to delve into her past and find out what has made her be like she is with her potty mouth and her sassy ways. She is not afraid to say how she sees it and pulls no punches (in fact she gives a lot of punches and kicks out). However when it is revealed how Andie was growing up and what she had to deal with and the loss she went through, it was quite understandable to see why she was such a prickly pear. Kudos to the author who wrote Andie’s part (I forget which one!) but to show me a character I do not like very much in the beginning then transform her into me wanting to hug out with her…well all’s good. Not usually a feat easily attainable I can tell you.

As for Roman *sigh* he was one lushilicious, alpha, drop dead gorgeous hunk of a man. He was over the top hot and I want my own Roman. Now. He was stunning. The way he put up with Andie in the beginning and then started to slowly break down her steel barriers was a delight and a heartfelt warmth to read. I love my book boyfriends to be this tough on the outside but squeezable cute and soft on the inside. Also I loved the relationship he had with his Mom (or Momma when he was desolate and needed her support) it was so gorgeous to see.

However Andie and Roman together? Scorching! The passion and intensity of the chemistry between this pair was off the charts hot! The kindle was burning up! What I loved though was the way the initial heat turned into so much more and the heart pounding love in abundance (even though it took Andie a long time to change that ‘I hate you, to ‘I hate you (not really)' to the ultimate ‘I love you!’ was so touching. This was one of those books where the author lets you glimpse between the lines so the reader can see what the character is really saying with these words.

There was an element of danger introduced with a sub plot of an ex colleague of Andie’s that to be honest I didn’t really think the storyline needed as there was sufficient drama just with Andie and Roman. It did however lead to an absolute desolation where my heart was in my mouth hoping that the outcome did not result in a loss.

This was a definite five star read for me and I loved every second of it. I loved the backstory, the characters and the relationship not only between the main characters but all the secondary ones too. I am so looking forward to the next book. Linc is one to look out for, he is one enigma of a man and Reagan is definitely the right woman to unravel his mystery. Five brilliant stars!

It’s the start of nothing good.
I fired off a storm of raunchy text messages…to the wrong number.
And he replied.
Him: Show me a picture.
Him: Tell me your name.
Why does the lure of anonymity have me craving to indulge a stranger?

It’s the start of everything right.
I received a slew of text messages…when everything in my life was wrong.
And she made me laugh again.
Her: You’re probably a creeper.
Her: Possibly a stalker.
Why do I have the overwhelming need to find this stranger who saved me and make her mine?

Him: Take a chance with me.
Her: This is crazy.
Him: I need to see you.
Her: What are we doing?
Him: We’re about to find out.

Review

The first book in the new Lovers series by writing authors duo, K Webster and JD Hollyfield, Text 2 Lovers was a fast paced and engaging read.

Dani has always been a yes person, doing all for others but getting no respect in return. After she finds out her boyfriend has been cheating on her plus used all her savings, she vows (with lots of help from her sassy bestie, Andie) to not be a doormat anymore. First thing is to delete his number from her phone but then after a few drinks she needs to take her anger out on him and tell him a few home truths. Unfortunately she doesn’t recall the correct number and the guy she actually gets through to thinks it’s hilarious to be receiving these random texts and plays along. Therefore begins the banter to lead to so much more.

Ram is at a standstill in his career after being fired for something he didn’t due, he is trying to make a go of his own business. When he starts to receive text messages from a strange girl, it takes his mind of his worries and he actually starts to look forward to the banter with her.

At first I thought this was going to be a light hearted romantic comedy but it became so much more. The sad past that Ram has gone through was so heart felt and deep it had me in tears at some points. It also actually touched on the topic of depression and the impact this can have on a person.

I loved the build-up of the fun, then the reveal of the meet up to the intensity of the passion between Dani and Ram. These two were instantly likeable and I loved how Dani grew a back bone and started standing up for herself. It was sweet to see how Ram gave her confidence in herself. These two were also hot and passionate.

There were some parts I found a bit hard to believe such as his brother’s action to Ram being fired and the ridiculous reason that was for (without any HR investigation?)

However I absolutely enjoyed and loved this one and I can see the next one is about Ram’s brother and Andie as their weird interactions were alluded to in this book. Overall this was a four star read for me
