This is the debut book by author River Savage and I was
totally blown away with it. I absolutely LOVED this book! Take one sassy school
teacher and one extremely hot alpha biker and you have an instant kindle button
clicking hit.
Kadence is the local school teacher. She hasn’t had it easy
in the last few years, after surviving a fire at her house which scarred her
for life and being abandoned by her selfish ex, she has learnt to cocoon herself.
She won’t be taken for a fool ever again.
When dealing with a disciplinary after a fight between two
of her students, she is astonished when young Zayden’s father walks in to
attend the meeting. She cannot deny the impact he has on her but she tries hard
to hide this from him. However nothing gets past Mr sexy as sin, Phoenix
Knight. He sees the gorgeous woman and he know he will have her, after all no
woman has ever said no to Nix.
As much as Kadence tries to outwit Nix and side step his
attempts to have her, she’s up against a losing battle. As soon as they are
within sight of each other, the sparks just fly. This insta-lust just cannot be
denied! But Nix doesn’t understand these new feelings he is having, he knows he
wants Kadence but then again he doesn’t want to let her go either. As for
Kadence she just won’t give in to acknowledge what she is feeling too.
The relationship is quickly established and the sex scenes
were downright hot, dirty and delicious! They were so refreshingly different to
the anything else I have read and really got the reader hot under the collar
(or damp in the pants!)
Steamy-licious!
The banter between the pairing was at times so hilarious and
then in the next part so heart clutching and sweet, it just made me sigh with longing.
With all the hotness and humour there was also a dark
entangled backstory of rivalry amongst it with another club and the drug cartel trying
to get a hand on the town that belongs to the Knights Rebels. Nix has built his
club up from the past dirty dealings they had been under his father’s rule to
now being respected by the local community. He is fighting to keep the town
safe. I loved how River tied Kadence’s past and Nix's ex into the mix of this.
But I won’t divulge – you need to read, it’s fabulous!
The relationship between Nix and his son Z was so sweet and
tender to read, especially to see how this bossy, hard-core, alpha man could
turn to be the sensitive and loving father at the flick of a switch. Awww.
The secondary (well if you can call them that) characters
were amazing and added to the thrilling reading experience, I want in on the
clubhouse and get my freak on with Sy, Jesse, Beau and Brooks, Oh and Holly
(Kadence’s best friend) would be a blast. Prospect me in please!
This book has everything I could ever want in an engrossing
read. It was hot, sensual, dark, dirty and with just the right amount of angst
and tension to keep my attention throughout. This is a brilliant debut and a
fantastic start to a thrilling new series. I can’t wait for Holly and Sy’s
story next (OMG Sy is going to be EPIC – I just know!) FIVE PLUS STARS! Highly
recommend you read.

Resting the cold beer between my legs to soothe the ache, the boys give me shit for striking out. I feel the same way: the woman is a tough nut to crack.
“You ready for round two, Prez?” Beau smirks behind his beer. Turning my head, I watch as Kadence storms over. I groan as my broken dick comes to life, apparently not caught up with the news
that she doesn’t like him. She stands at the end of the table, arms crossed over her chest, unaware that her position puts her sexy tits up on display.
Fuck, this woman is a tease.
“Hey, sweetheart,” I say before taking a sip of my beer.
“Don’t sweetheart me. What did you say to my date?” she snaps, anger clear on her face, and I’ve never seen a more beautiful look on her. Her eyes blaze with fire and the need to push her more fills me. I can’t wait to have her under me.
“Oh, the stiff?” I ask nonchalantly. “Just told him to run along; he didn't have what it takes to play with the big boys,” I say as some of the brothers laugh into their drinks.
I’ve never pushed a woman this far before; chasing her and teasing her feels so damn good. Something about her pushes my
buttons and leaves me wanting more. Most women fall at my feet begging to get in, but Kadence? No, this woman makes me want to do the begging. I’ve never wanted to fuck a woman so hard while spanking her ass at the same time. The way she reacts to me makes my dick hard and God help me, getting her riled up is a sight to see. I can see it in her eyes; she’s fighting it. She wants me and I intend to give the lady what she wants.
“What do you want, Phoenix?” she demands,
uncrossing her arms and assuming a relaxed position, but I’m not stupid. The woman is crazy mad and I’ve got a throbbing dick to prove it.
“What do I want?” I repeat her question, pausing to take another pull on my beer. “Well, after your little stunt in the bathroom, I wanna pull you down on this table and spank your ass,” I tell her calmly. Even though my balls are aching, my cock is pulsing.
“You disgust me,” she hisses and turns to walk away. I grab onto her hand, turning her my way. She tries to pull out of my grasp, but my hold on her is strong.
“You don't mean that. I've seen the way your eyes flash. You would love for me to spank that sexy ass right here for everyone to see. Wouldn't you?” Embarrassment floods her cheeks, and for a beat, I think I might have pushed her too far.
